About Me
To put it simply, I’m a Creative with a science background. Odd combination right? Believe me I know and it’s been a journey getting here.
I loved art throughout my schooling years and excelled in visual communication design. There were only so many art classes I could occupy my schedule with and so science filled the remaining. I was encouraged to go down a medical path as that’s where “money” was. I studied my bachelor of biomedical science, majoring in immunology and immunity. Although challenging, I made it through and was incredibly proud that I had done so but I just couldn’t see myself in a white lab coat. Nor could I see myself studying art, I thought it would ruin my love for art. Almost as soon as I graduated I fell into the creative industry and thought let’s just see what happens.
Well this happened. I finally worked up the courage and confidence to put my love for creativity out there. Not for the money but because I am genuinely passionate about art, freedom of expression and all things inbetween. I want to share it with the world because it is so beautiful in all its forms.
My Mission
I want to create a community of genuine people who can appreciate and practice creativity. A community where there is no judgement, we are able to speak freely, make new friends in our adulthood, bond over our traumas. A place to heal our inner child and separate from the repetitive daily routines we find ourselves webbed in.
My Background
How does one sum up their entire existence? We could be here a while but let me break it down…
I grew up in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, to an Australian father and Polish mother. After my parents divorced I spent most of my time in the Western Suburbs but often bounced around Victoria visiting our beautiful Melbourne city and Victorian beaches (I still do).
I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel through both my childhood and adulthood, visiting family in Europe, exploring and assisting in Asian countries and working in New Zealand. Travel has definitely shaped not only my outlook on life, but also my day-to-day habits and has made me the person I am. I felt a need for a better work-life balance.
I tried the full-time, 9-5 work but I felt as though I was wasting away. I quit with no plan but things started to fall into place. I was modelling more frequently, became a talent manager where I had the opportunity to try out styling and photography, I started more creative projects, and volunteered for the Geelong Art Show amongst trying a far too long of a list of new things. I firmly believe that when you remove something you allow space for something to naturally fall in its place.
Now that’s just a very small snapshot of me, there’s a lot more to it. Let’s get to know each other and push our creative boundaries together.
